To keep enjoying that comfort, proper maintenance is essential.
Recommended maintenance routine
Why is lock maintenance important? By cleaning and lubricating your bike lock regularly your lock lasts longer and protects your bike at its best. Moving parts operate more smoothly and keep locking up as easy as it was on the first day. A well functioning cylinder ensures theft protection.

Clean your lock
Regularly remove dirt, dust and sand from around the cylinder and moving parts using a soft brush or compressed air. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and let it dry thoroughly.

Lubrite cylinder and moving parts
Use a moisture- and dirt-repellent lock spray or a dry lubricant specifically made for locks. Spray briefly into the cylinder and onto moving parts, then turn the key several times so the lubricant is well distributed.

Check for security
Periodically inspect whether mounting points and holders are still secure and whether any rust is forming.
Do not use WD-40
